Mykonian saxophonist, Alexandros-Dionysios Karavasilis, descendant of the Tsitsilianos and Gryparis families, has spent much of his life on the island, immersed in its narrow whitewashed streets, timeless landscapes, and deeply rooted traditions. Over the years, he has developed a profound connection to every aspect of Mykonos, from its vibrant energy to its quiet, wind-swept corners that echo with history inspired by the authentic Cycladic spirit rather than its touristic image.

Jazz in Mykonos, founded in 2024, is more than a project for Alex - it is a vision and a personal mission. It embodies the convergence of his cultural heritage and his lifelong passion for music.
